Member Profile: Margaret Slawinski
Age: If Mr. Rabbitts reckons he is 38 then I’m 35 (Seriously I’m 50 this year)
Sex: Female
Job Title and place of work: Clerical Officer for the Health Service working at Grays Health Centre, Thurrock Hospital and Tilbury Family Planning Clinic.
Where do you live? With Mr. Rabbitts in Essex.
Other personal details: I don't have time for any other hobbies other than the SK as I seem to be sewing nearly every evening!
Regimental Role: Musketeer and Adjutant of the Regiment.
Regimental Nickname: I haven't got one, just Margaret, although I understand that people do refer to me as Mrs. Rabbitts – I would like to see them try doing this to my face.
Why did you join the SK, and did you choose the Blews specifically? Mr. Rabbitts introduced me to the SK and waited until I got through Aylesbury (Rain, sleet, snow and mud) before asking me to live with him – that and the fact that on one of our earlier dates he asked me if I could sew and did I have a sewing machine.
What do you like about the regiment/Sealed Knot: Everything – it's the sort of thing you either love or hate and I must love it, as five years down the line I'm still as keen. I like the Regiment because everyone is very friendly and accepted whoever they are regardless of status, career or age. It's like one big family.
Advice for new / prospective members: Just come along and try it, its like a holiday away from everyday life and no matter what role you choose the important thing is just to enjoy it.
